Broker Training for Annuity Conversations
With Real Support Behind It
If you work with clients nearing retirement and want a clearer path into annuity conversations, Hourglass Wealth & Financial Solutions offers a training approach built around education, practical understanding, and real-world mentorship.
Some brokers know they want to grow into annuity conversations but are not sure where to begin. Others recognize the need, but want confidence that they can approach the topic responsibly, compliantly, and with the right support.
This program is designed to help brokers understand how annuities work, what requirements are involved, and how to begin serving clients with more clarity.
Important note for brokers:
Participation in training does not replace applicable licensing, state training, carrier appointment, product training, or other compliance requirements. Brokers must satisfy all requirements applicable to the products and jurisdictions in which they operate before soliciting or selling annuity products.
Who This Program is For
This training may be a fit for brokers who:
- already serve clients approaching retirement
- want to better understand how annuities fit into retirement-income discussions
- are interested in building confidence before taking on annuity cases directly
- want a mentor-supported path rather than trying to figure it out alone
- may prefer to refer business when it makes more sense
What the training covers
The training program is designed to provide a practical overview of annuities and the role they may play in retirement planning conversations.
Topics may include:
- annuity fundamentals and terminology
- how different annuity categories generally work
- where annuities may and may not fit
- core compliance and suitability considerations
- how to identify appropriate opportunities for further discussion
- how to talk about annuities in a clearer, more client-friendly way
- what steps and requirements are involved before writing business
Mentorship for the First Real Conversations
For brokers who decide they want to move forward, the training does not end with a class.
Those who are truly interested may be paired with a mentor who can help guide them through approximately the first 25 client meetings and plan-development conversations. The goal is to provide enough practical support that brokers do not feel like they are stepping into a new area without a safety net.
This mentorship-focused structure is designed to help participants grow in both understanding and confidence, with support through the early learning curve.
Not ready to write annuity business yourself?
You can still serve your clients well.
Not every broker wants to actively build an annuity practice—and that is okay.
If you have clients who may benefit from a retirement-income or annuity conversation, referral opportunities may be available. That gives you a way to support your clients without forcing yourself into a specialty area before you are ready.
